As a family support worker with over 20 years’ experience , Kammi had long left her authentic self behind as she became engrossed in a career that many times left her emotionally, physically and spiritually drained. A busy career coupled with a busy family of three children and a husband often left little energy for replenishing her soul. In a search to rediscover her true purpose, she attended an informational session on Ayurveda. The presentation resonated with her and she continued participating in many workshops presented by many teachers of the practice, including several meditation retreats. She is happy to share the knowledge she has accumulated from her many years of life experience as a professional family support worker while melding it with her new knowledge both as an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Certified White Belt Nia instructor. With knowledge and compassion she is able to offer a holistic approach to living your best life.
History |
In the winter of 2015 Kammi decided to embark on a new career and attended an Ayurveda training. She has expanded her knowledge of Ayurveda through training given by specialists in the field and is pleased to be able to transfer the information to others seeking a more balanced lifestyle.
Complimenting a balanced lifestyle is some form of exercise. The Ayurvedic approach to exercise is not too much and not too little. Nia, with the goal of harmonizing mind, body and soul perfectly fits into the Ayurvedic philosophy. Kammi comes from a dance background and danced well into her 40’s before an injury put her on the sidelines. As a result her creative energy was neglected and became depleted. Then Nia found Kammi! The synthesis of 9 movement forms and the many personal growth concepts in Nia inspired her to become an instructor. Nia allowed her to return to a movement form that would accommodate her injury and bring bliss back into her life. Kammi is a White Belt Certified Instructor. Her humor and enthusiasm is infectious. She is a passionate teacher and cares deeply about her students. Her classes are fun, creative and engaging, with a little bit of personal growth in each class, for good measure. Check out the first class for free and discover the meaning behind her slogan, "Come for the pants, stay for the dance!" As Kammi strives to put pure, safe and healthy foods and products into and onto her body, she is also an Independent Consultant with Arbonne. A company she believes in with products that she has been consuming for over 15 years. What you put onto your skin does become directly absorbed into your body. Arbonne works from the inside out, encompassing the whole body philosophy. Kammi has a B. Sc. in Family Studies from the University of Alberta and resides in Devon, Alberta with her husband of 34 years. They are the parents of an adult daughter and two adult sons, all of which have fled the nest. |
